Family Farm Apartments offer accommodation in the heart of Durmitor National Park. Wood and stone elements of all our units combined with traditional Montenegrin household items and fireplace make a very cosy and pleasant atmosphere. In the meantime modern utilities give necessary comfort of your stay at our place. You are also welcome to have meals at Family Farm restaurant, Grandma's kitchen. Traditional recipes, locally grown products, big portions that keep up the pace with the activities that Durmitor offers. Possible B&B or half board service.
Fantastic location of Family Farm overlooking Jezerska visoravan (the Lake plateau) and Durmitor mountain is at only 350 meters from the main ski resort Savin kuk. The Farm is at 5 km from the town center, the nearest shop (for now) at 4 km.The village, in which area Family Farm is placed, is called Virak (vir - the spring of water, therefrom this village got its name). Here you will have all the peace and quiet you need, and it’s just five minutes ride from the nearest town Zabljak.
When you settle in one of our cozy units, you will have plenty on your mind about what to do, where to start from... We are here for you to help with suggestions and organize numerous activities. Rafting, jeep tour, canyoning, bikes rental, ski instructor help and equipment rental for winter guests...you name it :) You are welcome to book before arrival as well. Just leave it all to us and enjoy your holiday!
Our new, fully furnished and equipped, two-bedroom log house is designed for groups of 4 or 5 persons.
Comfortable three bedrooms chalet is perfect for both small and big (up to 7 guests) groups.
One bedroom apartment designed for smaller groups of guests can accommodate up to 3 adults.
Charming one bedroom log cabin with private garden is a perfect choice for small groups of 2-3 persons.

In 5 minutes walk from Family Farm Apartments there is a ski centre Savin kuk on the slopes of the eponymous mountain peak. Its highest point is at 2,313 m above sea level and elevation is 700 m. Read more
National Park Durmitor lays home to Tara Canyon the second deepest canyon in the world, at 1300m, a sight that is not to be missed. Tara River, referred to as the ‘The tear of Europe’ with its blue/green crystal waters, unpolluted and full of life stretches a length 140km through Montenegro and parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina. is one of the more relaxed activities in Durmitor National Park but spectacular in beauty and scenery. Tara truly is one of Montenegro’s most wonderful destination. A day rafting trip is filled with a visit to Djurdjevica Tara Bridge, Ljutica River (the shortest and fastest river in Europe), a swim in the water and a lavish domestic lunch. Read more

"We really enjoyed our stay in Virak. It's a cute little village and much nicer to stay there than in Zabljak, which is kind of touristic and not that authentic. The apartment is beautiful, the view is great and Elena's family was very nice. They gave us some home made cheese and joghurt which was delicous. It was so cosy to light the fireplace for it got chilly in the evening. Something we appreciated really much was that the neighbour offered to cook us delicious, traditional dinner for a reasonable price. We really recommend to stay at the Family Farm!"
"We stayed for 3 nights and wished we could have stayed for longer. We loved our little cabin! The scenery is stunning. The cabin was cozy, clean and comfortable. A car is definitely needed to stay there, but it's worth getting out of Zabljak. Also we had dinner at the neighbour's house twice. It was delicious and affordable. Highly recommended!"
"Beautiful cozy home. Very clean and warm. The location is perfect,you can see the ski lifts by the windows of the house. We were 2 couples and we booked the entire home. We love snowboard and for us was very comfortable going to the Ski Center by foot. But even if you go by car,the car parking will cost you only 2 € all day. We loved our stay at Family Farm and suerly we'll return there. "
"What an amazing place this is! We were greeted by Ratko who was very friendly and spoke very good English. We arrived later than planned and he didn't mind at all. (Tip: take the main road M18 and then the R5 - our maps took us on a different route from Bosnia which, although beautiful, was narrow, with bends and closed part of the way!) On arrival the cabin was very cosy with the wood burner already going. The setting is so peaceful, sat outside in the sun watching the village and farming activity was bliss. Closeby to beautiful viewpoints and natural attractions too. Can't recommend this place enough if you like to get away from it all and take in your surroundings. Thank you for the lovely gifts of homemade cheese and the mug too :)"
